Orc Kingdoms Recent History

7 min readApr 10, 2024

The orc nation has always had a tumultuous history, with harmony and strife alternating like inhaling and exhaling.

The ability and will to fight is a central tenet of orcs’ culture as they seek to embody all conflicts in a clash of bodies. From art to entertainment, from justice to everyday relationships, every aspect of orcs’ social lives has confrontational elements, violent even, often highly stylized but never entirely abstract. Warriors are the pinnacle of society, with the Koroa nobles being the commanders and generals and the Bihotza the elite fighters. But warriors are nothing without war, so conflicts quickly escalate: every slight, from a contested border to martial infidelity, can expand and grow to the point only a battle could settle the matter.

This desire for war and the honors it can bestow has caused the Orc Kingdom to alternate eras of divisions, with warring lords fighting for supremacy, to periods of unity, with a dynasty emerging victorious and restoring wholeness to the nation.

The Basa-Txerria family emerged as the Royal House in the IX century after rising from the southern regions, conquering the capital, and deposing the Puppet King, a figurehead prompted by the Council of the Four, generals that essentially divided the country for themselves.
