Works in Progress!
Hi everybody! Sorry for the lack of posts recently: I’ve been tackling the Codex Inversus book and it was quite overwhelming!
I have finally set on the layout style, the format, and the structure.
I would love it to be a linen hardcover, sized 18x26,5 cm (7x10,5 in). At this point, the estimated pages are around 250, most of which are full-page illustrations. It will be an overview of the world of Codex, with entries for all nations and extraplanar features, and also some thematic entries, like the history of magic and the spellcasting animals.
A more detailed atlas, with entries similar to what you saw about the Infernal Nation, is, at the moment, too big of a project: just Cocytus, Dis, and Erebus collected together are 70+ pages (there are some double-spread illustrations, but still a lot of stuff). So, for now, I think a broader approach is required (but who knows after that!).
I’ve been also trying some more narrative pieces (a short story may be a strong word) and I hope I will be able to share soon!
Meanwhile here are some mockups to show you what I have in mind!
